Dr. Friedman is a Board Certified Oral, a Maxillofacial Surgeon, and a Fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, The American College of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, The American College of Oral Implantology, The American Society of Osseointegration, and a member of the American Academy of Osseointegration. He is also a member of The International Society of Plastic, Aesthetic and Reconstructive Surgery.

Dr. Friedman did his undergraduate training at the University of Miami and attended the Medical College of Virginia, School of Dentistry as well as the Graduate Basic Science School receiving both his Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree and Masters of Science Degree in Anatomy. He did his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgical Training at the University of North Carolina and completed his Residency Training at The University of Miami, Jackson Memorial Hospital in 1978. Dr. Friedman is on staff at many of the local hospitals in the community and is an Assistant Surgical Professor at Nova Southeastern University , College of Dental Medicine .

Dr. Friedman is a member of the Florida Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon, the American Dental Association, the Florida Dental Association, the South Florida Dental Association and many other of their affiliated local dental societies.

Dr. Friedman lectures nationally and internationally on numerous topics involving complex dental implant surgery. He has been given permission to operate in many South American Countries by their Ministers of Health. He is the developer of both the Hex Cylinder and Twist Lock Cylinder dental implant and has served on the board of advisors of many dental implant manufacturing companies worldwide.
